Kashub Country Bed & Breakfast
A True Canadian Kashub Cultural Gem!
This century old farm depicts a time capsule that takes you back to a time
when Polish immigrants came from the Kaszuby region of Poland to carve out a
livelihood in this new country. The log outbuildings and split rail fences
nicely frame this bed and breakfast setting.
Built in 1891, the farmhouse along with numerous barns and sheds typically
illustrate the activity of those first Kashub people that started arriving
in 1858. Although upgraded for your comfort, the house still has all the
old characteristics and much of the original flooring and interior has been
preserved. The three bedrooms are furnished with queen/double beds and
century old furniture. The spacious living and dining area on the main floor
welcome our guests for relaxation and dining comfort. A hearty
complimentary breakfast is served each morning.
The 260 acre farm bodes well for the outdoor enthusiast as well. The fields
and forests are home to many bird species, deer, fox, turkeys and other
wildlife. The hardwoods and old growth pine stand majestically to guide you
as you enjoy hiking the numerous trails. Take part in seasonal activities
such as cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, creek fishing, and maple syrup
production. The OFSA snow mobile trail runs through the property for easy access.
Enjoy geocaching on property (will provide lessons and GPS unit if needed)
